Day 11 - Krafla

  • Andrea sees just how fast she can steam up her glasses. Nice hat. Is that Icelandic wool?
  • With no glasses to steam up, Bud works on being a dork. Thanks to the really big shoes, mission accomplished.
  • With all this heat, you'd think it would be warmer.
  • The mud pots are battle ship grey which by coincidence is the same shade as the sky this day.
  • Mineral deposits as water drains from a mud pot.
  • A 60 Megawatt power plant is fed by several bore holes. It's noisy, smells bad and has no carbon footprint (tm).
  • Superheated water "bridges" the road giving new meaning to steam cleaning should anything go wrong.
